1) assuming it will be on 3.55 ofw, install 3.55 regero then be sure to install rebug toolbox and enable QA toggle, head over to debug settings then press the magic combinaion, i forget the buttons you need to press, then turn on debug system update, once this is done update ps3 to 4.80 Rebug (REX) then go over to rebug tool box again and dump for root key. once this is done you will be good to convert the console to dex, at this point i would recommend installing 4.75 ITA or 4.80 rebug (D-REX). just note you don't wanna leave a disc in the console during this process or you will mostly end up on ofw above 3.55.

2) once on dex i would recommend turning on webman and cobra in rebug toolbox if you go to rebug. As for homebrew some useful ones are react psn, ps ninja v4, psn patch 2015 version, latest multiman and rebug toolbox. thats about it really.

as for safely going online, modding games, converting to dex, installing ccapi, setting up tmapi, installing games etc, there are plenty of tutorials you can watch, i would recommend becoming familiar with the console before messing with stuff you don't know.

Personally i just watched how to downgrade the console then jumped in the deep end and asked a bunch of dumb questions over the years lol.

I've asked dumb questions right from the start: "what's an eboot", "if i change the files on a game on jailbreak, will it affect the disc on an OFW". Wasn't easy finding guides on pirating either

Way back when, Saltcracka and Seb helped me out with learning the ropes, but I watched MzBomb3rZz's YouTube videos before I got my 3.55 OFW to be prepared for what lied ahead.

yeah aye i picked it all up pretty quick. and i think i've done rather well. i've only gotten one of my cids banned and only 4 accounts in 3 maybe even 4 years now not sure when i first went online but i didn't use it much first few years think it might have been 3 years ago for online idk i don't remember i tend to get my xbox and playstation modding starting times mixed up. though i didn't know much about using it till start of last year though, i'm the kind of person that would rather play on my ofw then my cfw any day, but having a cfw has helped me so much as i change accounts alot and being about to re-stamp trophies and regain lost progress is great suck i still need to redo ps4 trophies again though, for example. on my last account got 100% on Skyrim ps4 in 7 days 10 hours playing it after work(6 - 8hrs) every day. but on my current account i've only done 70% about a month. guess i just can't be bothered to grind it again this year.

og, i could just imagine, be even better if could use any screen shot we wanted, to make it more legit. if everyone with modded account had same screenshot or none it would be a little sus lol. idk if other people can see mine but on my skyrim these some screen shots that show i did the hybrid glitch. to save me the time when i felt like doing the vampire and wolf perk tree.
