They must both be set to DEX. Upon converting to DEX, you should install the D-REX Edition of your firmware for extra safety precaution, or at least that's what I use to do. I learned that PS3ITA is far more superior, and now that's what I use. But whenever I flash and downgrade consoles, I install 3.55 OFW, 3.55 Kmeaw, Toggle my flag, 4.81.1 Rebug REX, convert to DEX, install 4.81 D-REX, make sure all my debug settings are good, and then I install 3.55 DEX, and finish off with good ol' 4.75 v1.0 PS3ITA. I find that PS3ITA is far more stable compared to rebug.
