(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello,

So I had a PS3 Slim sent to me by a Customer 'Outside of NGU', and they asked if I could possibly find a fix for the problem that they're having with there console. I offered to do this Service for free as it's something that I have worked on before, but not to this extent.

So the PS3 is starting up like normal, red light for off and green light for on. (Controller is unable to sync).
It's also been tested on AV/HDMI and attempted to access recovery/safe mode more than a dozen times and this still shows no display output.
The lights for detecting the HDD and Wireless are working and the console stays turned on however, it doesn't turn off without holding the button.
It's making me think that it's a 'GPU' issue, maybe it's come attached from the motherboard. This is the common issue when facing 'No Display Output'.
So I took the console apart, cleaned it, removed and replaced thermal paste, placed down a copper shim, did a reflow and it still gives out the same results.
Both clamps on the back plate have been applied the same way as I would normally apply them when doing a full refurbish/YLOD fix so I know that the plates aren't to loose or to tight.

I've been trying to wrap my head around what could be the cause of the issue and cannot think of anything at this moment in time. So I thought I would ask you guys here on NGU and hopefully somebody can help shed light on this issue and how I could fix it. It would also mean a lot as it would be something that I could fix for free for a customer and also remember it for the future.

I might be missing something, but I honestly cant think what it could be right now as I'm puzzled as to what could be wrong.

Regards,

Try another hdd.

If it doesn't help anything, it needs a reball or has another fatal damage.

Already tried the HDD, forgot to add that. I kinda had a feeling that it might need reballing.
