I think the only permanent way is to downgrade and use idpset..

Otherwise, you could use webman or ccapi to set it to the console if you prefer to not use psnpatch..

Downgrade? Uninstalling rebug and installing another? Or completely reinstalling the cfw?

Uhg there is no downgrade required to set a new cid. Simply use ccapi and change you cid to your new one.

Use CCAPI and set it as the boot CID

therefore everytime ur PS3 boots it has that CID

The question was "how can i permanently install a CID", so im just answering your question..
You can easily use a new CID by setting it to the console using webman or ccapi..

but yes, to set your factory CID to another, permanently, I believe you have to install a 3.55 downgrader and use idpset.

If you're on the latest Rebug with Cobra and webMAN enabled, you can type your PS3's IP address in your browser. You should now have access to webMAN mod. Go to setup and scroll down to "Change idps and psid in lv2 memory at system startup:" To the right of IDPS, enter your first 16 digits of you CID in the first box and the last 16 digits in the second box.
You must login or register to view this content.
Check mark to the left of IDPS. If you have a PSID, do the same to that box. If not, leave the box blank and don't check mark the box either. Scroll down and click save. WebMAN will now spoof your CID on startup as long as you have Cobra and webMAN enabled.
