Post: Restoring a ps3

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Been given a free ps3 fat, chechk03, no hdd, it boots up and asks for the 4.41 firmware. This part is easy. Now I have read that to put this onto cfw, I need a flasher. I understand this, but I also understand that in my world, I hack network devices, and I know that 99% of the so called top 'devs' would rather I bought a programmer, instead of programming it myself by learning whatever os, in this case, the ps3 software. Keeping in mind that most people posting re: 4.41 ofw, did so x amount of time ago, I was wondering if there is any updates regarding if 4.41 can be done using a downgrader pup?

So I'm just wondering that while I install a new 500gig hdd, is there anything I could use to put this old fat onto cfw?

Thanks in advance Smile

You need a flasher to downgrade anything higher than 3.55... E3 flasher will work.

Yeah, thanks for replying, was kinda hoping for any hint's while I was replacing hdd, wondered if anything new had come about since, but alas, it's not worth it when a m8 offers ya a free one, took a while to seperate most folks confusing the versions and stuff, alas, thanks again Smile
