To quote: "While not specifically mentioned in the court documents, it's believed the accused, Zoomba LDC - trading at the address SHOPPSJAILBREAK.com - has been attempting to sell the new PS3 Jailbreak modchip, which allows users to circumvent the PlayStation 3's copy protection and play games retail games installed on the console's hard drive.

Haxor!
Sony are protecting there interests, say if you created a console, now people found a way to play backed up games, this inevitably leads to people sharing there games, now noone wants to make games for you any-more really as they aren't making much money as everyone just plays copies, you then have to pay people more money as a bigger incentive for them to make games for you still.

Sit and watch your console and business die or TRY and go down with a fight?

Yeah, look what happened. The PS3 hacking scene is now blooming and users now have access to recently unlocked doors leading to new and exciting things on the PS3. We also now have a hack with very high potential which will probably allow us to MOD online play on COD which is what basically everyone on this website has been trying to do for about the last 3 months. From where I'm sitting, The creators of this couldn't have released it at a better time.

Sony wouldn't lose money from this, the game developers would. Stopping people from having complete control over the ps3 is very important though, just look at iPod touches. You couldn't do shit on it, but if you jailbreak the possibilities were endless.

QUESTION, does anybody know how that lawsuit turned out. The one with Sony being sued for taking out the option to install Linux?
