That is the inside of a wireless card of some sort.
Usually that's what that shield part is for.
The gold part at the end is most likley part of the antenna.
If you look up the board and chip number it confirms it...

and dam.. i thaught it woulda been something like that because it had only 1 half of the side of the shell called NETGEAR but when i plug it in it doesnt work :O
