(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); YES JAILBREAK IS PATCHED BUT THERE MIGHT BE ANOTHER WAY
Okay many people have went out to buy another PS3 so they can have one at 3.41 still.
I can confirm that you can do Data Transfer Utility under System setting from 3.41 to 3.42 without any issues.

So YOU NEED 2 PS3 FOR THIS
Okay here what you do

Say you wanted to do the CODMW2 hack
here what you can try to do
What you will need
PS3 One = FW 3.41
PS3 Two = FW 3.42
An ethernet Cord
and a PSJailbreak (or Groove)

Step one: PS3 One- Use PSJailbreak and use the FTP Server to get Modded patch
***Video tut of step 2 and 3 below***

Step two: Once you have done that, On PS3 Two go to Data Transfer Utility under System setting and set it so that PS3 recieves

Step Three: One PS3 One go to the same setting only this time set it to send

******NOTE THIS WILL FORMAT THE RECIEVING PS3 USE AT OWN RISK***********

once this is done, all data has been transfer (even patches) so in theory your modded patch should work.

i cannot test this myself since i do not own any of these devices

Did so data Transfer testing here are my results
TRANSFERRING DATA FROM 3.42 TO 3.41 REQUIRES AN UPDATE
TRANSFERRING DATA FROM 3.41 TO 3.42 REQUIRES ONLY A FORMAT TO 3.42 NO UPDATE

now can someone confirm if usinf ftp server exploit to mod the patch does stay on the patch even after shutting off?

by reading this tut You must login or register to view this content. it would appear that you can indeed use the patch after shutdown without jailbreaking again

Ah, very smart idea man. I have a broken PS3 that's been sitting here for almost a year. I need to fix it (again) lol.

First time, it lasted for 30 minutes because my thermal paste sucked :(

At least I can fight
I swear that data transfer doesn't work over different firmwares i.e 3.41 >> 3.42

Really? I'm not sure since I've never even looked at it. Can anyone confirm?

Even if it dosnt work, use backup utility?
Or can you only use the same ps3?

I have also heard that transfer between different FW doesn't work, although the updates might be almost identical because Sony wanted to patch JB fast.

The backup utility might do it. Although since it will be restoring on a different PS3, tons of stuff won't get restored. Patches for games might be one of those things.

But if patches do get restored, this would be one way to get a hacked patch to a non 3.41 PS3.
