A coder named ifcaro has released a tool to explore the contents of files PKG. These same files that Sony uses to install applications, games, themes and PSN games on the PS3. This does not work with RETAIL version of the PS3, but with the file DEBUG. Under this program does not ifcaro Copyright (DEV KIT PS3) and the source is 100% legal. This program is still in BETA, you can not delete directories or make your PKG yet.



With this app you can then:



- Open a pkg

- Extract the files in the pkg

- Include files in pkg

- Save new pkg



You will also find in the archive called UnPKG another utility which is also open source debugging and extracting PKG

If it doesn't work with a retail PS3 and works on a Debug. Would it work on a Jailbroken PS3 because the Jailbreak puts it in to service mode or debug mode doesn't it?

Yes is doesn't work retail just work ps3 debug.

By a PS3jailbreak you have homebrews FTP for open PKG.

I have read a psjailbreak not turn ps3 debug.
