Post: Installing openIboot and froyo 2.2 iphone 3g (Easy only 3 steps)

1 is to install linux.

To install linux you go to You must login or register to view this content. and download

the wubi installer and follow the steps

2nd is to install the froyo 2.2

go to this You must login or register to view this content.

and download the program once download it extract it to desktop and run iphodroid as an administrator , plug your iphone and click shoot .
let it finish its job .

3 install openiboot (this part should be performed in linux unless the two other parts that are performed in windows) PREPARE THE IPHONE FIRST

PREPARATION :

On terminal type the following :

x86 Preparation
1. sudo aptitude install libusb-1.0-0 (for x86)
2. Put these drivers on your desktop You must login or register to view this content.
3. Install Libreadline5 "sudo apt-get install libreadline5"

x64 Prepartion
1. sudo aptitude install libusb-1.0-0 (for x64)
2. Put these drivers on your desktop r You must login or register to view this content.
3. Install Libreadline5 "sudo apt-get install libreadline5"

INSTALLATION:

first download this files and extract it to desktop (linux desktop)
You must login or register to view this content.

Installing OpeniBoot on your iPhone 3G
1. Put the openiboot.img3 on your desktop.
2. Put the iPhone in recovery (not dfu)

To put iPhone in recovery mode
1. Turn off the iPhone
2. Hold down the home button and plug in your iPhone
3. Congradulatins your now in recovery mode.

3. In terminal type "cd Desktop/"
4. Now Type "sudo ./loadibec openiboot.img3"
5. The OpeniBoot UI should now be booted up
6. Select console and hit "Home" button
7. Now Type "sudo ./oibc" to connect to the console interface.
8. Wait for "Welcome to OpeniBoot"
9. Now type "install" to install OpeniBoot onto your iPhone 3G
10. Now just wait until its finished.
11. Once the install is finished type "poweroff"
12. Celebrate OpeniBoot is now installed!

still cant download froyo - that link just lets me download an .exe file which takes me back to that webpage

ok go to iPhoDroid 0.6 3G on the very bottom and click it and it will start to download now (note iPhoDroid 0.6 3G is next to Support and help )

cant get the phone in recovery mode - i did as you said
