Now, if this is true, could you possibly, while upgrading to 3.50, purposely corrupt the installation by shutting down power, and then re-booting without internet connection, install Firmware 3.41?

I have no idea if this would work, just another theory. And YES, I do know it's stored on the NAND FLASH, but if you corrupt the current one, could it possibly be downgraded to prevent further damage to the sytem?

Theory #2.
You could use proxy server while updating, redirect the 3.42 Update file to the 3.41 Update file mid-update, and then when the file is corrupted during the installation, return to your flash drive, and install 3.41 firmware.
