No.. it wont the firmware is stored in a flash memory... and not the actual HDD.

Theres currently only ONE way to downgrade your PS3... Its called 'Infectus' but its hard a hell :(

There is no way to downgrade. Changing HHD would only give you more or less space Eek

the fiwmware is kept in the nand not the hdd
