Haxor!
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I was thinking about attempting to figure out how to downgrade and here is what i came up with that MAY possibly eventually work.

Patch Swaping
Something along the lines of this NOTE:This prolly wont work straight of the bat........but im brainstorming.....i think something could come out of this, or something similar to this

Step 1: Download the patch from the sony site.
Step 2: Download an older patch from somewhere.
Step 3: Get 2 identical usb drives
Step 4: Name the drives the same name, and configure them the EXACT same
Step 5: Load the new patch on 1 and the old patch on the other
Step 6: Go on your ps3 and go to install the patch.....but dont do it yet, make sure you select install from storage media.
Step 6: Let the patch go to install......AS SOON AS IT GOES TO START LOADING THE PATCH OF THE STICK SWAP THEM (Note: You would have to do this as soon as it verified there was a new patch on the usb)

If it is possible to edit the patch we might be able to do this and change the older patches version information to the new patches version information. If anyone has any interest in trying this i will try to help you.
EDIT: Tomorrow i will try to get 500 meg usbs and try this if i have time

lol I smell a brick. (I did something similar to this with my psp.) It most likely won't work.

i suppose in theory it could work, but you would have to switch them rather quickly, perhaps too quickly.

The worst that could happen is this wouldn't work.......or you would somehow upgrade to the firmware you didnt want. From what i here its almost impossible to brick a ps3 with just software...........taking it apart and messing with internals is where you would get your system bricked.
Plus if someone has a slim that they use for psn they could try this the next time a new firmware comes out. Thank you for your input tho......

I dont think it would be that hard.....just have someone by your ps3 that has a fast hand......It only takes a second or to 2 swap them.....if you have a usb port hub it could prolly be done in less than a second.....but i could be wrong

i did it , but it keeps giving me this copy error im guessing but it reaches 6% before giving me the error

What i did was this: 1. put in first usb with 3.50 , ps3 detects and says it will copy and it says yes or no giving me time to switch the ports with the 3.41 but when i press yes it begins the copying procedure and then gives the error after 6%

Are the drives EXACTLY IDENTICAL? And if they are mabye we just have to edit the version stuff

ALSO IT IS POSSIBLE THIS IS A DEAD END AND THAT IT WILL NEVER WORK.....BUT WE WONT KNOW UNLESS WE TRY.......

Your thread suggested swapping the hdd this has been suggested many times and wouldn't do ANYTHING in terms of downgrading..........You cannot come to this thread and claim that you deserve rep for a method you didn't think of.......we shouldn't be thanking you for coming on to random threads and claiming that you did this.......i dont ask for rep and i will never ask for rep.....also i am no expert hacker, but you are obviously an idiot or a troll......You thought we could downgrade using an hdd thats never been used............ doesn't matter if its been used......Try thinking outside the box...........also if you waste your time going around trying to get rep you will NEVER get anything accomplished.........../facepalm

EDIT: This aint even close to what you thought of.............not at all..........you didnt do anything by suggesting downgrading by swapping hdd........come back with results or a semi-possible method and im sure people will rep you if thats realy what you want.......
