Also does the ps3 have any sort of powersaving mode as ill be leaving mine on till by break arrives.

You power cycle the ps3 do the power eject hack and wait untill ps3 loads when you see the files on your ps3 wait 15 seconds (loading time) and then You can remove.

No there is not power save mode other than leaving it on lol.

Basically it can do everything psjailbreak can do

-Backup manager
-FTP Server
-A few emulators
-MW2 custom lobbys if you have 2 ps3's (like me )
