Post: PS3 Games Start Shipping with Jailbreak-breaking Firmware
10-07-2010, 11:55 PM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Right now, the piracy and backup-enabling PS3 Jailbreak requires firmware 3.41 to be loaded on the PS3. Sony summarily released a new firmware, 3.42 that killed the exploit.

Now our options have been lessened even more.

Looks like new games will be shipping with the new firmware, rendering the Jailbreak useless. EA’s upcoming Medal of Honor has been confirmed to ship with, and require firmware 3.42. Attempts to circumvent the firmware requirement have thankfully proven fruitless, making it seem like Sony’s winning the cat and mouse game at the moment. Those who’ve tried have been greeted with a “80010019″ error message.

It’s pretty inevitable that all anticipated games from now on – Black Ops, GT5 and the like – will include similar protection, making PS3 Jailbreaker’s days of wanton thievery numbered.

it wont really effect. If the patch is verified as working u can just transfer the data to your 3.50 ps3 (if u have 2 ps3's)

Alot of people dont have 2 PS3s though so i want some actuall proof that we can bypass this firmware.

Also to the people going on about jailbreak working on 3.50 even if it does we will prob get banned if we went online coz of the launch code and they would just make an update the next day. It looks like sony ite win this in the end

Why not just wait till someone actually removes the 3.42/3.50 requirement and download the game from any source you desire? Your all only bitching about it because it'll stop you playing backups - the PSP did all this since JB began on the PSP and they worked round it on that!

Its because sony are saying they have tried all ways possible and by removing the firmware it gives an error code. I hope your right but at the moment we have nothing apart from old games to play offline. The PSP is very different from the ps3 but only time will tell

hi guys, I am new... I just bought a ps3 used fat model, firm 3.50.. I read that the 20th of October has been announced the jailbreak.. Can someone tell me for the moment if there is a way for me to "downgrade" somehow for using also the backup games? Smile

thing is a new jailbreak would well and good, but sony are on it straight away and it will get patched, and with circulating the update as you said is a great way to stop the hacks as people will want the game over the hacks. Smile but we are still hopefull for a 3.50 jailbreak Smile
