When i try to join their game all get is 'cannot connect to host". My connection isn't glitchy - i've got about a 75%-90% signal with router...Any help would be appreciated.

Signal strength doesn't matter. What is your actual connection speed?

When you get errors, go back to the main multiplayer screen & then bavk to Play Online & try again. If it still doesn't work, repeat.

I bet ur nat type isnt 1 is probably 3 or 2 look it up on youtube "how to change nat type3 to nat type 1" that should work!
