It is not possible to jailbreak your ps3 with a normal thumbdrive/ pendrive.

you must have something that is programable, something that has a "brain" a such.

eg. ipod touch, or ti94 calculator, or programmable dev board like a AT90USBKEY.

As all these dev boards are sold out, ud go better with trying to use something you own like the ipod. Or just fork out like $20 for a cheap jailbreak clone
