(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); ok i bought this ps3 off of eBay and the guy said it was 3.41 and it was . so i go and open up the box plug in the ps3 and i realized that it was O to click on things in the XMB and X to go back and i was like wtf so i got to the browser and its in japanese, but everything else is in english ? wtf.. so i called sony and they said if those controls were flipped then it was a japanese ps3 and i tried everything with like full format , quick format etc ive tried everything and its the same thing , idk if this guy did something to this ps3 before i got it or something but i cant get it to change to a regular usa ps3 , and also when i go to download the mw2 1.11 update it just bypasses it and i cant download it , can someone please tell me whats going and fix this keep in mind the seriel number is a USA seriel number and the seller also told me he bought it in the USA and hes from the USA, if you help me fix it i will glady pay you though paypal

If all you are worried about is getting the official 1.11 MW2 patch, there is an .apk on NGU somewhere that lets you install it.

I think he may have chiped it, but used a Japannese chip...

Hold the reset button until you get the recovery menu then get a USB with FW 3.41 and reinstall it. I can link to you the US update if you need it

refer to this post to fix your issue. can only be done after jailbreaking

go to sony site. download fw3.41 and restore with that.

That should be the US version. and should fix the problems.
