(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Well my problem is the following.

My ps3 blue-ray drive doesn't read disc so im going to be fixing it Friday.

But i had updated the game about 3 weeks ago to the new 3.50 patch Facepalm and the installation fails at 99% sic=nce the blueray drive is required to successfully update and i have to force shut down every time.

It's now stuck on trying to update my ps3 and failing when it reaches 99% every time i turned it on.

My questions is the following:

Is there anyway to force cancel the update since its technically still not finished installing on my ps3; so i can keep firmware 3.41 to JB.

Is they anyway to cancel the update or am i just :fuked: :in: :the: :ass:!!!

I tried booting in safe mode or so i think by holding down the power button down till it shuts down the first time and wait till the 3rd set of blinks after the 2nd time i turned it on, but it goes back to trying to install the update and failing.

Thanks..

Only 1 way to find out, format that HDD! Pull it out, format it in windows, stick it back in. Or try a new one Happy

Sorry to hear, Your PS3 is bricked now, Firmware is defo corrupted in Nand. I believe you download Bad or virus update from website and tranfer it to USB and install on the PS3.

It doesn't matter how many time you use Recovery Mode, all it will do is reinstall bad update from harddrive again, You out of luck im afraid. This happen to me twice in Past.

Yes if you format your PS3 harddrive from PC, Once you PS3 start up, The first thing is PS3 will look for exsisting update because it not on your hardrive that will end up black screen. But again having bad update on your hardrive will not help you to complete install the firmware. Basically you out of luck.

Unless the hacker remend broken install for PS3, Like the PSP pandora battery

Yes i do, Im in same situation like he did in 2 years ago. Don't tell me i don't know what im talking about. Unless sony improve Recovery mode which if i din't know.

If PS3 doesnt install properly the Recovery won't help. My PS3 stop installing at 73% and i decided to leave it alone then 45mins later PS3 automatically shutdown. I repeat like 15 times and it still stop at 73%. I thought i should delete the PS3 hardrive from PC, which i did.

Then i slot Harddrive back into PS3 and start up and all i see is backscreen. Even i can't get into Recovery mode anymore or promote you straight into install mode.

I guess maby Sony improve these error now. I know alot of people complaint about their PS3 having problem installing firmware and cause bricked, back in the day.

I can already tell what you do and do not know by your previous post. Since when is information 3 years old considered accurate?

Don't what you mean by that

Well i did mislead some comment i wrote, i be more spectict this time. I did say that my PS3 brick twice, which is two of my PS3 bricked by error installing, First PS3 brick in 2007 which has no Recovery mode back then. Then my second PS3 Brick at early 2009. And i know Recovery mode exsist at late 2008 i believe, I try to use recovery mode on my Second PS3 and it din't work.

Go on, brick your PS3 on purpose and see you can try to use Recovery mode to unbrick the PS3. and tell us because it won't work.
