EXAMPLE:I have ps3 that i wanted to jailbreak to make mw2 cL's so the ps3 was at firmware 3.40..

-for this you need a ps3 with any firmware lower than 3.50
-requires internet
-you also need a storage device to save the update on
-and a BRAIN / FOLLOW DIRECTIONS!

First go to internet in ps3 go to google and search for the firmware you want.

Second once you find the firmware you want to update to click to download and it should ask you for a storage device then plug in the storage device and download it..

AND THE LAST STEP IS to get out of internet.Go to "SYSTEM settings" then click on first option it gives you AND U SHOULD SEE SYSTEM UPDATE and right under it should say STORAGE OR SOMETHING THAT HAS TO DO WITH STORAGE....then click on storage and it should now say scanning for update and after that it will find the update you downloaded on the internet ....

BOOM YOU GOT YOUR PS3 ON THE FIRMWARE YOU WANT IT ON!!!!

Actually you would need firmware lower than 3.42, because the jailbreak was patched in 3.42 :p
