2)put it on a flash drive
3)plug flash drive into ps3
4)Smash ps3 with hammer

So you have a ps3 with 1.00 firmware? if this is true it may be a lot easier to hack. Try suing the jailbreak on it and it should work. This mean you can put any firmware you wish on it (theoretically) but you can still not downgrade unless you are below 2.XX I think you can use an infectus to downgrade if you are below 2.XX

if you just want to hack mw2 and your mate will let you update the ps3, put firmware 3.41 on it and jailbreak, find a patch you like and use one of the many methods around here to put the patch on the 3.41 then use data transfer utility to transfer the patch to the 3.50 ps3
