But you most likely wouldn't be able to download anything while you're playing a game, so what would be the point? Leave your PS3 downloading while you're at school or work? <_<

Do you mean like a 3rd party app store for the ps3?

Like cydia/rock is for the iPhone. If so then definitely. Yea host custom themes, fun applications, simple games. Would be pretty badass. Cool Man (aka Tustin)

well the ps3 homebrew scene is still very fresh, give it a couple more months and check up on it, until then keep that FTP client installed!
