(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ok i just wanted to play ina private match with my 2 buddies to even see if the lag switch is worth it or more of a head ache.

i had a spare light switch in a drawer and a spare 15 ft cat 5 cable.

i stripped the sheathing fromthe wires, located the SOLID ORANGE wire that was intertwined with the orange/white wire

i cut the ORANGE WIRE only and connected both ends to the switch and it doesnt work.

even more funny i started a private match as host invited my 2 buddies i completed took the switch out leaving the ORANGE WIRE completely disconnected and we stil played no problem

WTF

how the hell were we playing with no lag or disconnects with one wire in my CAT 5 cable not even connected

that doesnt make sense.

i went back and set my PS3 to use 10BASE T HALF Duplex and now the switch works perfectly

its really cheap though

i treid it in a few rank matches and went 20 killls and 1 death( martydom) several times and got so much hate mail from pther players saying that i was a lag fag switch user.

so theres no real point to use this since everyone knows when you are using it and its always obvious who has one since they have the most kills nd least deaths.

i dont think ill use this anymore just doesnt feel right

great stuff mate works like a charm

ive found that using 10t HALF base duplex works better and running a MTU of 700..and i have a switch for both green and orange and they both work fine..on the same cord...

i need some help i made a lag switch and every time i use it i get disconected anyone know why??
my set up is modem/router --> hub --> hub --> switch --> xbox 360, also where do i put these settings:
1. Start to setup an internet connection.
2. Pick Wired
3. This is where most people get the settings horribly wrong. Pick MANUAL! (Picking easy will waste precious time looking for your information after you flip the switch, while having already memorized will allow it to re-connect faster)
4. Enter your IP information (if you don't know your ip address then setup an easy configuration, then look at it from the internet information option)
5. Pick 10base-T half duplex as your ethernet type.
6. Keep MTU at 1500.
7. Disable everything, other than UPnP. Leave UPnP enabled.
8. Test your connection to make sure that it works.
9. You should now be set.

Can someone help me, am i doing something wrong?

i noticed that alot of people use the set up: modem --> (switch) --> router --> xbox 360, so what if people have modem with built in router

Made my self a switch last night for my ps3! i have noticed a few peeps get disconnected straight away when they flip the switch, i use 10base-T full duplex and its worked so far, i have the switch located on the ethernet cord straight into ps3 but guess peeps get voltage problems due to what switch they use? i found a small switch in an old led torch which is a MICRO Style button - Was good idea because i have it at the top of the ps3 controller almost like a ps3 button, this makes it easyer to use! SURELY THE SIZE OF THE BASE PLATES IN THE SWITCH MATTER when connecting, giving people voltage problems?
