So what are you trying to jailbreak the ps3 or the ipod touch because for the ipod touch if you have it below 4.0 then you can just go to jailbreakme.com on your ipod and this will jailbreak it if you are above 4.0 like on 4.1 then you can use greenp0ison to do it it is a very simple easy thing to use

Thats weird are you sure you have allowed for more memory, i used this method of jailbreaking my console and i never got any problems such as this when i installed Ubuntu on the VM ware.

If your computers physical memory is already being used by other applications, it wont work. As in if the free memory you have is very low, it will not start

Yea im sure but i think i know why im getting the message. Just looked at the RAM of the PC i was using and its only 158MB

LOL i doubt you only have 158 mb of ram cos no computers can run on that
