How To Make A Majic/Lag Switch
I Am Not Responisble For What You Do With Your Ethernet Cord

Tools Needed

You must login or register to view this content.

You Need A Screwdriver, Scissors, Or Stripping Tool. Not Required, But Useful: Tape, and Some Kind Of Box To Mount Switch In

Any Kind Of Switch (Buy At Lowes, Home Depot )

You must login or register to view this content.

You Can Buy A Cheap Switch At Home Depot, Lowes, RadioShack, Wal-Mart, And Other Simaler Stores. It Doesnt Have To Be A Ligt Switch. I've Used A Dimmer Switch Before, And I Could Adjust My Lag, But Id Did'nt Work Most Of The Time, So I'd Reccomend Not To!

Ethernet Cord, Have A Spare One Just In Case

You Can Get A Really Nice, Cheap Ethernet Cord At GameStop. You Can Get Two 25' Ethernet Cords, And A Connector To Connect Them Both, To Make One 50' Cord. This All Comes In One Pack. You Can Also Get Them At Wal-Mart, Meijer, Circuit City, Best Buy, RadioShack, And Other Simaler Stores.

Get Some Kind Of Cutting Tool, And Cut Open The Insulation On The Cord. DO NOT CUT THE WIRES INSIDE OF IT!!

Now, There Are About 10 Mini-Wires In It, for Some People The Solid Orange Wire Doesnt Work, And If This Applies For You, Use The Solid Green Wire. To check which one you should use, look here: You must login or register to view this content.. Cut the wire in two, and strip oof the insulation (rubber). Connect each end to one of the screws on your light switch. If You Have A Router, Read The Instructions On The Bottom

There, Now You Have Succesfully Made A Majic Switch, Make Sure When Your Trying To Get Online, Thats Its Swtiched On! If It Doesn't Work Very Well, look at this thread: You must login or register to view this content. . Try A New Switch, Or Switch To The Opposite Color Wire, (GREEN, Or ORANGE) Or Just Simply Have A Friend Who Has A Good One Make One For You!

---------------------This is why you get kicked using lagg switch---------------------

ok everyone complaining it laggs you when you flip it And it kiks you... you have to be host of the game you are playing in and to be host after you click find game within 1 second flip the switch for a few seconds and after a few seconds flip it back to on and u should create a game lobby (for cod) and while in the game just flip it for a few seconds and get the guy and flip it off (if you leave it off for long time it just ends game)

Climbing up the ladder
Anybody have any sucess with dimmer switches? (the digitally controlled ones). I am going to pick up one and see if I can make an adjustable lag switch. Cause the way I figure it, if a digital dimmer switch is anything like a 555 timer, it would basically send only parts of the data, and while not 100% standstill lag, it would appear as if you just had a bad connection and were hopping around all over the place.

Mix that with the fact that the receive data is in tact (so you can still see them moving) yet the transmit data is scattered (would appear that way to them) would be pretty great.

Let me ask you guys a question. I haven't done a lag switch yet, but when you flip the switch, does everybody on your screen go to a stand still, or can you still see them running around like normal except you are lagging?
