So basically, there are two different types of CAT5 ethernet cable. Both have 8 little wires inside, however the position of those wires determines which one you should cut while constructing a lag switch.

The Pin Positions are as Follows:

The Ethernet Types and Configurations are as Follows:

WHAT THIS MEANS:

Simply look at what color wire is in pin #2.

If the wires in your cable are setup like the T568A configuration (the green wire is in Pin 2), then you should use the GREEN WIRE.

If they are setup like the T568B configuration (the orange wire is in Pin 2), then you should use the ORANGE WIRE.

So, what wire should I cut if I wanna make freeze switch(for mgo), not lagswitch?

I tried this and the wire #2 is the solid orange....

BUT if i try to lag, i get disconnected, so i think this could be wrong. I did it right.

Should i try it with the grenn one?
