My E3 Card Reader is on its way so ill be jailbreaking very soon, if i do it and i ever want to get rid of it should i just update the ps3 to the latest firmware?

Also will updating give me back the ability to play blurays?

Yeh just update but you will keep custom patches and ect.
I don't think you get your blue ray back though I think they are working on a fix though and should soon be possible as someone has successfully got it back using a backup they saved before but don't know which file

NOOOOooooo!!!! Trust me, your system is worth more giving the buyer the option to update to what ever version they want. Plus its user friendly... Plug and play>update will start automatically<




This says to me that your BlueRay player/lens is faulty. You need to replace it. No update will fix this for you. (I repair PS3's for a little money on the side.)
