yea, you can. say you transfer elite mossys patch to the 3.55 ps3, you can back it up on a flash drive so that you can transfer another patch and back up that 1. and if you want to use a patch just restore from the flash drive

if u backup on 3.41 ps3 no you cannot restore on a new one.
