So i bought a ps3 fat with a bad blue ray asked the kid if he had messed with it he said no so i was like ps3 for free jailbroke it manage to do challenge lobbies to. Then my other freind with a yellow light ps3 gave me his ps3 so i was like if i open up the yellow light ps3 and take otu the blue ray drive and put in in the faulty one it will work so i was like ima beast.So i did that after that i wasnt able to run homebrew.

You need a blue ray drive that goes with the model you have one that is not ment for the ps3

it's not that I have the wrong bluray drive; I just have a broken blu ray drive. And my other PS3 is the one with 2 ports.. I already tried putting that drive in my 4usb PS3, but they were different model drives! Thanks for your help though because if you have the right bluray drive, that WILL work.

I think your blu-ray drive needs to correspond with the PS3 , eg. The correct drive Model to the correct PS3 Model

Like ur sig lol but anyways my ps3 "fat" with 4 usb ports drive is broken. So same kid had a ylod same ps3 i tried swapping the drives once. Of course i used same logic board but it wouldnt take the disc so i got pissed and quit and put orignial back. i opened the other drive that should be good up and the magnet wasnt in right so if i try it again and make sure the magnet is wright it will work? also lets say i dont have original logic board is their anything out there to like flash a new logic board to ur ps3 since we have jb now i think it could be possible
