I have a few questions though.

1.) Can I jailbreak 3.30 or will I need to update to 3.41, and then jailbreak from there?

2.) How exactly do I jailbreak? I know there's USB software you buy, but is there any that you don't need to buy that will work?

You need to update to 3.41, the only firmwares that can be hacked are 3.41 and 3.15

Yes search around for a tutorial or use google. I recommend the e3 card reader.

No you cannot; there was one in development but I believe it got dropped.

Well, #3 is what breaks me then. I have nothing besides a PSP that has USB capabilities and I really don't want to spend any money to jailbreak the Slim PS3.

If you are old enough I assume you have a Ti-84 calculator for math class? You can use that, or if you have an android phone, you could use that.

Maybe ask your parents for the E3 card reader for christmas, it's only 15 bucks.

You can use alot of things to jailbreak the 3.41 firmware ps3.... look at threads that have all the capatable jailbreaking devices... You can find a cheap dongle clone for like 10$
