HIM: You still can downgrade. You just do it through the backup way. No way to block it through there because of the internal system program language.
HIM: I just downgraded one two days ago, I lost the backup. You can change the BLUS to match ur ps3. I know how to do it, but I just need the copy of 3.41 Backup.
ME: The backup won't help. Each one has different signatures that only works on that certain system.
HIM: How is it different, I just used someones random back up to downgrade another. It will work.
ME: Holy crap you're ignorant I'll open a thread to prove you wrong.
HIM: Okay, You can take any other ps3 3.41 back up. An update your firmware an ps3 to that backup with no problem, sometimes you will get a problem, but you can edit the files an change the BLUS on it to match an it will work.
HIM: I'll show you an make a video on it if you can send me yours. I know exactly how to do it, as well as my friend. It works. There is no way for PSN or any game to release a update to block this.
Anyways what he is basically saying is that he can downgrade his 3.55 PS3 with my PS3's 3.41 backup. I have tried explaining to him that it isn't possible because backups are signed by the system and can only be used by that system. So please post below that you cannot downgrade that way because he does not seem to believe me.
every PS3 has a unique signature you could do it if you decrypt your PS3 HDD and learned how to decrypt it then re-encrypt it (very hard to due since the file size can't change) then you can edit signatures
