I built the switch using a home depot light switch. i connected it with a coupler to my regular cat5 (same wire configuration, still Orange is number 2 wire). then i turn on PSN and connect, then i flick off my switch and its says SIGNED OUT of PSN. how the hell does this work??? it auto signs you out???? how canyou lag in killzone or COD4 if it auto-signs you out?????? are lag switches pointless on PS3???

ps3 is connect to a router connect to a modem. NAT 2.

put your lag switch in between the router and modem that will almost definetely work

whats the difference where you put the switch??? it will still cut of the connection to the PS3, and instant sign out.

i thought the PS3 has the ability that once it detects a small network failure connection, it signs you out immediately.

so HOW does a lag switch work on the PS3 then???

who here EVEN has a lag swtich on their PS3 and doesnt get themselves signed out each time you flick it off.

lag switches are garbage, every post ive read here is with people constantly saying they dont work.

why do you people teach others to build a lag switch for no reason???

sorry man major failure. MAJOR FAIL. Half the glitches come from them. I get about 1 minute before I get cut from psn. Obviously it is not pointless because most of us have working lag switches

by tricking the ps3 into thinking there is a problem with the internet, and not the ethernet cable.

well me for starters. I can leave mine disconnected for minutes on end. In-game i'll get disconnected after about 20-25 sec, but that's still a lot. Most people who offer advice in this forum have working switches.

they're most certainly not garbage. most people simply don't follow directions, and don't look at other threads where questions have already been answered. also, some people might not get lag regardless of what they do. It's different for everyone.

well there's obviously a reason, otherwise nobody would do it. Basically it tricks the game into thinking you're in one place, or doing one thing, while you are actually in another/doing something else. the glitches made possible by this are near endless.

you can also gain the upper-hand on people by lagging, then popping up right behind them. In COD games, the host can freeze every other player and rack up some easy points.

just because you couldn't get it to work doesn't mean others cannot. The only spam i've seen in here is yours.
