It tricks your ps3 into thinking the packages are from sony... therefore running on all firmwares.

You dont need to be trying to use this just wiat for someone else to upload singed homebrew material then use it. This is to allow you to create and sign your own programs/packages. i.e. ftp server, back-up manager. The only reason these programs dont work at the moment is because they are not signed with sony's keys...
