Or you need a 3.41 firmware downgrade on the ps3key?

you can downgrade it from 3.50 and lower.
with a ps3key/x3max/psjailbreak/dev boards/calculators and many other stuff.

to downgrde you need to flash the ps3key with the factorymode jig.

and you need a blank usb stick with 3.41 pup in the root and lv2diag.self 1 on it.

i don't know what firmware you get when u buy a new ps3, but it's probably 3.41, 3.42, 3.50 or below. you can only jailbreak a ps3 with firmware 3.41, but if you have 3.42 or 3.50 you CAN downgrade your ps3 to 3.41.
a ps3 with 3.55 is NOT hackable yet, but as there are private keys and stuff released, there will be a custom firmware soon, so there's no need for jailbreaking anymore

and buying a ps3key is pretty much waste of money right now. only jailbreak if you have an iphone or ipod touch 2G is something to do it. otherwise just wait for those CFW's

I don't think ps3 3.50 is downgradable anymore. I tryed it and right at the step were you put in usb with modified 3.41 and l2self file 1 or whatever it wont turn of it's flashing green light.. But if I manully take it out it will just turn on and go form green to red in like 6 or so secs....

when you buy a ps3 a firmware would be 3.40 or 3.41 if you get 3.40
