Download this place on root of memory stick then boot must be in servive mode this is not that notepad .txt creator thats a different load
thanks geohot for all your hard work and try to bring us a working ftp server so i can haxx on 3.55

so i have a usb, do i put the file on root of memory stick, then put usb in ps3? is it really as easy as that?, and does it work on none jailbreak ps3?

I'll tell you guys what I've heard and what i know
What i've heard is that you can't get out of service mode on 3.55 and will cause a brick, which can be fixed, but not easily
Also service mode requires a JB device, but service mode isn't the jailbreak, this may sound confusing to newbies, service mode is what sony uses to fix PS3s, we used jailbreak dongles to access service mode without the special jigs we need
What I know is you can't downgrade on 3.55
Another thing I know is that Installing signed homebrew will be simple when a signed homebrew PKG is released, wait till then if you don't know what you're doing
Also KaKaRoToKS plans on releasing CFW, when completed it will probably make things much easier, likely able to run unsigned code, and still be shown as official, he will likely be done in a few days, if it can't run unsigned code it will probably have an easier way to run signed homebrew
Hope this helps, if you don't know what you're doing don't try this

yes but u hav to put ps3 in factory service mode in order to read it
