Post: Modified Patches into .PKGs?

So, I'm wondering if we can get a modified patch and convert it into a .pkg so we can implement it into out PS3's. Because a patch is already signed, we wouldn't have any problem with this, right?
It's just a suggestion/theory/question. Hope someone has the answer to this

Its a Mw2 patch but in PKG form, put it on a usb, go to install package files on CFW Ps3, then see if it works.

Dont do it just found out it doesn't work.
