(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I've basically just randomly come up with a few things to try and get some modded patches on our ps3's. Please note I do not have enought computing skills to try these out as I would have no idea how to even start!
I first thought of this because I saw a post where elitemossy said he first put a modded patch onto his ps3 without a jailbreak or custom firmware.
1. A disc - Getting a disc to install something in the ps3. (Don't ask me what or how lol)
2. Through the USB ports - Getting a usb stick to install something in the ps3. (Again don't ask me how)
3. Patch data transfer to computer - When we data transfer a patch to another ps3 its a simple ''handshake'' to the other ps3. If we could find out what it does to check its another ps3 and then trick it to think our computer is another ps3 we could easily edit and move patches about.
4. Redirect patch download - When we delete a patch or a new patch comes out for a ps3 game if we have our ps3 set up with an internet connection it will find and ask you to download the latest patch. If we don't have an internet connection it won't get it. If we could somehow change the server it goes to find the patch to our computer we could get it to download it from there instead. (Possibly) Maybe by packet sniffing we could find out what it is sending and where.
5. Network settings - I have no idea about this but maybe a custom firmware that adds options to network settings allowing us to set up something with the ps3. (Please don't flame over this one lol)

Anyway I would appreciate if anyone knows why something won't work then please explain to me why and not just say ''it won't work'' or ''EPIC NOOB FAIL''. ~Thanks
Any other ideas feel free to post them here.

I'm working on something right now.. Theres a hole in the ps3's network adaptors settings with linux. allowing unsigned code to be ran. I'm trying to get it to work.

Or we can decrypt the game update .pkg swap the patch to a modded one then encrypt the game update .pkg then we will be able to run the patches. We need to find out how to ENCRYPT the pkg.

If I'm not mistaking myself now, there is a way.
Something with proxy and linux, fooling the PS3 to download a patch.
And that patch is whatever patch you choose.

You must login or register to view this content.

Im not sure if that works, but it seems promising!
