Sony released a statement on the custom firmware topic which is very strange considering Sony likes to keep their lips sealed. Here is what they said.

During the BBC interview the fail0verflow team had this to say:

As you can see Sony is in quite a predicament and as stated they will take steps to protect their systems. Did you notice the We will fix the issues through network updates" part? Well I am thinking it is a patch but fail0verflow says its hardware. Maybe they mean network as in ban hammer. Who knows? I don't . Only time will tell.
