(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Tools Needed-

1- Flash Drive that is Formatted to FAT32

2- PlayStation Origonal 3.55 Firmware-Here

3-GeoHot's 'Jail brake' for the OS 3.55- You must login or register to view this content.

Step 1-

Plug your USB device into your Computer and make sure it is formatted to FAT32.

Step 2- Once your USB device is formatted you must prepare it to hold the Play Station update file;

USB>PS3>UPDATE>(Sony File) {ALL THINGS MUST BE CAPITALIZED}

Step 3- Go and look at your ps3, does it have Firm Ware 3.55? If it is a Custom Firmware you must revert back to 3.55(If you need 3.55 Original see STEP 3 a, if not go to Step 3 b-.)

Step 3 a- If for some reason you need to put the original 3.55 Sony Firmware on, just download it from the link above(US only) Then put it inside the UPDATE folder in your usb drive.

Plug your USB into your ps3, then go to System update, then you must pick Update Via Storage media Device.

Step 3 b- If you have 3.55 Original then inside your UPDATE file on your usb put the GeoHot's file inside it.

Then plug it into your PS3 and go to system update and Update Via Media device. [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1MzH9knw5w"]Video[/ame]
(I made the video on my Iphone, sorry for the Quality all.)

If all else fails-

It has been said this wont work for everyone and you need to be in safe mode so Video You must login or register to view this content., I didn't make this one.

You can put it in the recovery mode by.

1- Flipping the switch at the back to off, then on, or unplugging then plugging the system back in.

2- Hold the power button down, the system will beep twice. (Mine shuts right back down, it dosn't restart itself like the video)

3- Let go of the power button, and push it and hold it again, you will hear one beep, then two quick beeps and will be told to plug in your controller VIA usb

4- Do that then go to option 6 in the menu, make sure your usb drive is plugged in with the Geohot PS3 firmware.

Where you put PS3, on the usb itself is the root, everything else is a sub folder

So just drag the package into your USB, not in ANY folder, just on your usb, that is on the root, you can leave the PS3 one, didnt effect me at all

it was kinda weird. i would look in the folder and nothing was there so i waited for 5 min and still nothing. so i backed out and i hit triangle and hit install all and it discovered it and installed lol
