basically they're used to sign your .elf & .pkg-files properly so that they can run on the cfw.
but anyways, this is mostly for homebrew developers so they can update their homebrew apps/games to make them 3.55cfw-compatible. if you don't know how to use those tools, you shoul just wait for your favorite homebrew to be released 3.55cfw-compatible. that's much easier Winky Winky

Thank you kindly sir! I'll just leave it be then. At the moment I've setup the EMU's so i can play NES and SNES roms on the ps3. Question: Could i use an FTP server to get ROMS onto my HDD on my ps3? Or do I have to continue to use a usb?

i don't know much about the ftp thing yet, as i'm also new to the whole ps3 homebrew-scene. but i assume, that if you have a ftp-client installed on your pc, you're able to copy the roms directly to your hdd. but i'm not sure about that.

Yes you can use an ftpserver or you can use comgenie's file manager <--that's what I'm using, if you have homebrew you want signed, send them my way and I can sign them for you

What's up dude.. So i can use GEOHOT's CFW + comgenie's file manager? I don't have any homebrews that needs signing, but to be honest i wouldn't even know if one needed signing. Would you mind going into a little bit more detail as to the signing a pkg, or when someone would have to sign one? Thanks in advance.

i just started working out how to sign the packages yourself an hour ago, so i can't tell you much about that for now. you better ask ballakid77 about that as he already seems to know how to do it. Smile
