Today i put Geohots CFW on and when it goes black and the PS3 starts bleeping, i turnt it off (which apparently your not meant to) now when i turned it back on i did not have anything like install package files or anything like that, i repeated this all several times and still no luck, i went into recovery mode and clicked system update, check my FW and it said corrupt..

PLEASE HELP!

why on gods green earth would you turn your ps3 off during an update? that's like touching a stove when it's RED hot! /facepalm

You're not supposed to turn it off.

Put the OFW update on your memory stick and restore to that in recovery mode. Then put Geo's FW on and install via the update menu. I think that should work.

Restor to what? when i put in recovery mode i have 6 options:
1. Restart system
2. Restore default settings (tried)
3. Reestore File System
4. Rebuild Database
5. Restor PS3 System
6. System Update (tried) ??

What do i do ??

download the OF 3.55 from sony and put it on ur usb. then in recoverymode use option 6, system update. but u have to use the original one. maybe ur firmware on the usb is broken, so download a new one. we had the same problem yesterday. after redownloading everything was fine...
