It's common sense that updating to an Official Sony firmware would NOT brick your console. It would be illegal for Sony to do something like that even if your current firmware was modified.

If you read it, it is telling you, to only download UPDATES from a trusted source such as Sony. They are talking to the retards that try downloading the updates through mirror sites that contain viruses and stuff. They have always told you this. The pic that was posted as proof of the sony brick BS, wasn't even the same as the link he provided where he got the information. Close all these conspiracy threads please, dont even respond to them, they are posting this crap to get responses.
