Now I'm trying to go back to Sony's FirmWare. I have tried downloading both US and UK 3.55 Downloads from Sony. I get my flash drive and make sure nothing is on it. I make a Ps3 Folder, Inside that a Update Folder then I put the PS3UPDAT.PUP in that folder and then I head over to my Ps3 and I click the media storage way to install updates. Then it pops up "No applicable update data was found". I know im doing everything right but I might be doing something wrong. I believe you must put it in service mode witha device... IDK much so google it sorry I can't help much... :/

I had this problem too. This is an error because the file didn't download correctly. I would try downloading it again (I use firefox) then put it in PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP

Then Try from RECOVERY MODE that works a lot of time. Hope I helped.

How would I go by putting it in Recovery Mode?

you turn the ps3 off, then hold the power button until it beeps once, then beeps twice then let go, i think you have to do what I just said twice though.

Turn on your ps3. Hold the Power button till it turns off. Then hold the power button then you will hear one beep followed by 2 consecutive beeps. Then let go and you should e in it.
