you cant just use the pkg you have to rip the game to HDD or download it and use ftp server to copy the files from computer to ps3 then after that you use file manager on ps3 and transfer contents of USRDIR folder, EXCEPT EBOOT.BIN, to /devhdd0/game/BLES01047/USRDIR/

thanks so how do i rip the game ? too bad ther wasnt a youtube video on this so it would be much easier to understand

I dont get this part transfer contents of USRDIR folder, EXCEPT EBOOT.BIN, to /devhdd0/game/BLES01047/USRDIR/. You transfer the same files to the same folder?

yeah im lost on the whole thing i mean i dont get how to get he ftp download or the rip game an i dont know where the folders go

Ok make a folder called /devhdd0/game/BLES01047/USRDIR/

IF you downloaded Castlevania use the ftp server and transfer the contents of that BLES01047 folder to the one on your HD, except for the eboot.

The rest I don't know for sure but I think you install the pkg (which is why you DON'T transfer the eboot)

After that there should be a Castelvania icon under games from which you can play now that the pkg is installed.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

ok the only thing i dont get is i DID download castlevania BUT all i have is the .pkg file no "folder in which to transfer everything but the eboot. any help on how i get it. ty

Heres a little guide, its not mine, all props for this guide go to ItsBarryBurton

1. You're going to need a file manager, a backup for a game you want, and a pkg for that game. I recommend having blackbox ftp on your ps3 and Smart FTP on your PC. Once you have these things you can move onto step 2.

2. If you downloaded the backup, use blackbox ftp and connect it to your pc. I suggest putting it in /devhdd0/GAMEZ/ for ease of use. You only need the ps3_game folder for this to work. If you backed it up using a manager, it should be in /devhdd0/GAMEZ/ or /devhdd0/game/LAUN12345/ I'm not sure which, and it depends on which manager you are using.

3. Now, once it's on your ps3 install the pkg for the game. If you run it, it WILL NOT WORK unless you do the following steps.

4. Now, the pkg should have created a folder in the /devhdd0/game/(game keycode). To find this keycode, the pkg should be called something like UP0001-xxxxxx-.... the xxxxxx is the keycode for the game. Now, the whole game isn't there, just some folders and a modified eboot.bin the USRDIR folder.

5. This step is important. I recommend creating a folder called EBOOT in the /devhdd0/ directory before doing this step. Go to the /devhdd0/game/(game keycode from pkg)/USRDIR/ and there should only be one file there - the EBOOT.bin Move that file to the folder you created called /devhdd0/EBOOT/ and keep it there. Delete the USRDIR folder in this directory - /devhdd0/game/(game keycode from pkg)/USRDIR/
Remember the backed up folder from before? (/devhdd0/GAMEZ/ or /devhdd0/LAUN12345/)
Go to the folder that has the game and go to this directory. (/backedupgame/ps3_game/) There should be a folder called USRDIR, copy that folder to /devhdd0/game/(gamekeycode)/
now you should have a new USRDIR from the folder created from the pkg.

6. Delete the eboot in the folder /devhdd0/game/(gamekeycode)/USRDIR/
and replace it with the backed up eboot from /devhdd0/EBOOT/

7. If you did all of this, it should work if you downloaded a working pkg.
