As long as they do not damage your hardware they can do whatever they want. Maybe someone skipped the ToS when signin up to PSN :carling:
You actually own the hardware of your PS3, if they make a firmware that won't boot up if there are traces of CFW/HBs/Piracy you cannot complain.
