Yes you can... You have to have the update 3.55 that is.. On a USB stick and then go into safe mode then it will let you update

Answered many times before. Yes you can but you need to install from the recovery menu. To get to the recovery menu you must,

1. Turn off your PS3
2. Hold down the power button until your PS3 turns on then off.
3. Hold down the power button again until you hear the double beep.
4. Select update system software at the bottom.

This doesn't work. Tried it countless times but nothing happens. Just get that error. Are you sure you're talking about geohot's? Cuz many people are having trouble returning to OFW from geohot's CFW... But, if anyone knows a way, can you please post it?

Yes I'm talking about geohot's. I've updated to OFW from geohot's before and it went fine. Do you have the peek and poke update installed also?

it should work from recovery, if it doesnt, make sure the files and folders on ur usb are named properly, a lot of ppl always miss that.

I works from recovery. Make sure you have the folders named properly ^as said above, however, you must make sure that you have the update within the Ps3 folder in your USB. AND make sure that it is formatted to FAT32 or else your Ps3 won't be able to recognize it.
