(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ok it is official, as Geo is behind bars (LoL jk) i took it upon myself to start working on a CFW.o

So first off i started reviewing all the .PUP files/ documenting dL and whatnot. I have discovered the parameters witch can be modified within the pup.

Ok to get at the real discovery... While exploring the HDD on a slim PS i discovered the Ps1 and Ps2 emulation devices within the device.
Sony has actually set a parameter( or a bind so to speak) on all the emulation devices, which will only allow emulation viA Network download ( game off PSN saved to HDD).

Okay gets a little tricky now, i have been editing the parameters within the emulation files stored on the PS3, and made a discovery that we actually CAN get our backward compatibility back!!!

I have a few ideas in which i have been testing all night, and i think i may have found a way to trick the PS3 to play your past titles from prior systems. Im not gonna shed much light on this right now, but i Will be posting ANY and all updates and findings...

Also if there is ANY1 familiar with CMD line interface and cmds post in here let me know, the more people working on this, the more we will find...

**UPDATE**
Ability to Boot past titles from a fat32Formatted External.(Unpartitioned)

**UPDATE**
Open Manager 2.1 & a Newly designed CoManager(File & Backup)

Uhm Lvl2 patched 2 days ago. Non bricked, (ive only got a ps3 bricked one time) (you can use a MacChanger Tool to fix this).

Another thing, the emulation software stored on the Ps3 CANNOT be fully accessible through Standard Filezilla login(elevated levels required).

WE obtained the Dev_Support login credential for FileZilla ( with the patched lvl2 build) Will allow access to additional areas of the system. Thanks to CryosVv2

Dont you mean they found it financially Feesible to make users which already own a physical copy of a game, have to REPURCHASE that title as a logical copy which LEGALLY CANNOT BE SHARED WITH FRIENDS, FAMILY ETC.....

Exactly What i thought, BUT EVERY SINGLE ps3 ships with a ps2 and ps1 emulator internally installed (hence why you can play ps1 and ps2 games off the PS store).

In defense of GeoHot and all other "pirates" ( excuse my language )
but SONY actually spends the money to physically GO INSIDE the PS3 emulation controller and disable it so it may ONLY boot from HDD NOT DISC. You see where i am getting with this....?

I have proof of this, But all that stops you from playing your older games from a previous system is a firmware/update which physically binds the Player from reading from disc ( will actually say it is the wrong disc format) but again this is a lie..... Damn SONY, stripping all our features....

Anyways ive already got the base laid out for the firmware, and have already put together a team which is currently working on a way to rollback this emulation update, or build a new Driver for the emulation software.

The only way is emulating. No offense, but it makes no sense why Sony would dis-able a feature that it's already bulit-in PS3? And millions of people begging for it.

Anyways, I see where you're coming from.

Do you hear yourself/? Do you know what GEO even fighting for man??? Qoute "No offense, but it makes no sense why Sony would dis-able a feature that it's already bulit-in PS3? And millions of people begging for it."

That is EXACTLY what they did with the Install Another OS feature, they took it away, although EVERYONE is begging for it.

You market a product with certain features, once there qouta was met for sales/overhead They screw the users.

In Comgeiens file manager signed by xDivybc I found some files one named something liek ps2emulat.XXXX and one ps2.XXXX I will find them again and take a picture.

And the old old ps3 phat versions could run ps3 games, not sure if they removed the feature but I think it was only available on 40GB models

Nope, you're wrong. Backwards compatible feature was available on :

* Old 80 GB

* 60GB

* 20GB

* MGS4 40GB Bundle

Back to topic, tell me why would Sony block such as feature if it was possible through a FW update. Don't bring Other OS they blocked it to prevent hacks.

I didn't know the models.

Well they are remaking PS2 classics in HD aren't they? I think its so they can squeeze more money from us.

ALSO a Blu-Ray player BY DEFAULT can read and execute DVD discs... Anyone on the same page as me, or still non-beleivers?

Not to flame or anything but can't we do this through normal play back. Or do you mean by read write and execute backing up of the games and reading them from a backup manager ?

Anyway keep up the good work i can try and assist in any way i can i have basic c++ knowledge and I'm okay with command lining.

Hit me up with a personal message and me and my brother will provide any assistance we can.

Including testing etc only if you need it.

I'm not a leech.

Thanks
