Exactly What i thought, BUT EVERY SINGLE ps3 ships with a ps2 and ps1 emulator internally installed (hence why you can play ps1 and ps2 games off the PS store).
In defense of GeoHot and all other "pirates" ( excuse my language )
but SONY actually spends the money to physically GO INSIDE the PS3 emulation controller and disable it so it may ONLY boot from HDD NOT DISC. You see where i am getting with this....?
I have proof of this, But all that stops you from playing your older games from a previous system is a firmware/update which physically binds the Player from reading from disc ( will actually say it is the wrong disc format) but again this is a lie..... Damn SONY, stripping all our features....
Anyways ive already got the base laid out for the firmware, and have already put together a team which is currently working on a way to rollback this emulation update, or build a new Driver for the emulation software.
