You're double clicking them, aren't you? Try opening them from Notepad>>File>>Open (Show All Files)

You must not have copied them properly. You went into the BLUS30377, USERDIR, highlighted patch_mp.ff, and then pressed circle to copy it to the location displayed on the other side of the screen, right?

when u try to copy it was the screen red or blue? if it was blue you didnt copy over it.
