Yes this is a copy and paste, I revised over it, and changed stuff and added stuff, no point in completely re-writing a working tutorial. I have done this myself and it works. I would also personally recommend downloading the 3.55 OFW and installing that first, before anything else due to me doing it on OFW 3.55: You must login or register to view this content.

WARNINGS:

-THIS WIPES YOUR HARD DRIVE, BACK ANYTHING UP BEFORE DOING

-THIS TUTORIAL WAS MADE TO BE DONE ON THE OFFICIAL 3.55, INSTALL TO THAT BEFORE DOWNGRADING.

Tutorial:

1. Download the modified PUP and lv2diag files: You must login or register to view this content..

2. Get the device you'll be using to get into Factory/Service Mode ready(e.g. psjailbreak, ipod, ti-84 etc).

3. Get your USB storage device ready (FAT32 formatted).

4. Power down your PS3 console (toggle power switch on rear or unplug from wall).

5. Copy FILE1/Lv2diag.self (from Lv2diag_355.zip) to the root of your USB storage device.

6. Copy PS3UPDAT.PUP (from Downgrade_355.rar) to the root of your USB storage device.

7. Insert your downgrade device into the PS3 USB port nearest the Blu-ray drive.

8. Reconnect the main PS3 power source and turn on your PS3.

9. Your PS3 should boot into Factory/Service Mode.

10. If you decide to chicken out, get out of Factory/Service Mode by using FILE2/Lv2diag.self — Copy that to your USB storage device, overwriting the other, and power on your PS3 with it connected. Otherwise proceed to the next step.

11. Power down the PS3 using the controller

12. Remove your downgrade device and insert your USB storage device.

13. Power on your PS3 and the downgrade should start.

14. Your PS3 will automatically turn off upon success.

15. Restart your PS3 and you should be back in Factory/Service Mode.

16) Go back to the regular 3.41 by installing it normally.

You’re now at 3.41(3.56). Then upgrade back to the real, official 3.41 using Sony’s OFW update. Now jailbreak it normally with the same jailbreak device, you can also still use 3.41 CFW (download: You must login or register to view this content.) you can also downgrade further if wanted, using a 3.41 to x.yy downgrade tutorial.

I just did it then and it works fine, there is a chance you can brick your PS3 with this, there was also a chance you could brick your ps3 using the 3.50 to 3.41 downgrade, there was also a chance you could brick your PS3 when installing CFW, so there's no need to state the obvious. From 3.41 you can then downgrade to an even lower firmware.

Un-Bricking PS3 tutorial if you stuffed up and it bricked:

1. First of all, download these recovery files: You must login or register to view this content.

2. Unzip the .zip file and it will show up two folders (Lv2Diag File 1 & Lv2Diag File 2)

3. Put your PS3 on Recovery Mode (it its bricked it will not show you the Recovery Screen, it will just turn off once you click power+eject)

4. Then format a USB and put the following files on the root: Lv2Diag.self (From the File 1 folder) and PS3UPDAT.PUP (Your current firmware)

5. Put the USB on the right USB port of the PS3 (The one closer to the Disc Reader) and turn it on

6. The screen will be black, just wait 10 minutes approximately and the PS3 will turn off it self (If the PS3 doesn't turn off after 10 minutes, turn it off manually)

7. Turn the PS3 on and you'll see the Recovery Mode screen, after this erase everything from your USB and put the Lv2Diag.self (From the File 2 folder) on the USB root

8. Turn off the PS3 and put the USB on the right USB port of the PS3 (The one closer to the Disc Reader)

9. Turn your PS3 on and then it will turn off, turn it on again and your PS3 will be unbricked.
